Youth
Don't like reading textbooks, doing homework, or listening to lectures? Rather learn by doing and seeing? On a Wonders of Washington program our Nation's history comes alive in ways you have never thought possible! Stand in front of the White House; visit George Washington's home at Mt. Vernon; see the original Star Spangled Banner, and Declaration of Independence; catch an IMAX film at the Smithsonian, and marvel at monuments dedicated to our country's heroes.
What Makes WOW so Fun?
- Your friends are with you! The only thing better than experiencing DC is doing it with 25 or more of your friends!
- No lectures! This is learning by doing and seeing; experiencing history and government in ways no book can deliver! Check out our sample itineraries here!
- Stay at a place designed for you, the National 4-H Youth Conference Center. Bunk bed rooms, outdoor volleyball/basketball courts, recreation room with video arcade and gift shop, and great food! Check us out here!
- Learn from a Youthful Program Assistant! Your tour guide and facilitator is college-aged and knows all about Washington, DC and the history of our country.
- Create Amazing Memories! You will get to visit all the sites that you typically only get to see in a history book. Just imagine how cool your Facebook page will be when you add your new photos!
