Plan Your Trip

Planning your WOW is easy! Follow the steps below and soon you and your students will be experiencing Washington and making life-long memories!

1. Make Contact! Call our Sales Department for more information on our Wonders of Washington (WOW) program and to get information on the various program lengths and pricing options available. Click here to contact us!
2. Organize your group! The WOW program requires a minimum of 25 participants, but this can be any combination of youth and adults. We usually recommend a minimum of 1 chaperone or leader per 10 youth.
3. Select your trip length! WOW programs can be from 2 - 6 nights. 
4. Choose your dates! WOW programs can be run any time of the year including weekends and holidays. It is best to have several possible date options. Be sure to contact us early, as many groups make reservations more than one year in advance. Peak season runs from September - mid November, and late February - mid June. Discounts may be available for non-peak season programs.
5. Make your reservations! Contact our Sales Department to make your reservations with one of our great sales professionals. Please have full contact information for your group, as well as estimated number of participants and your room break down ready (i.e. how many quad rooms, triple rooms, etc). 6. Plan your transportation to DC! Bus or Motor Coach transportation is required for your group. If you are flying or traveling by train to DC ask us to arrange your coaches for you through one of our trusted local providers.
7. Start Fundraising! For many groups this process will require several months, so begin as early as possible!
8. Coordinate your group's Capitol Hill visits and/or White House tours. Because Congressional offices and the White House want to communicate directly with their constituents, your Conference Service Manager is unable to schedule these appointments. However, they can help you determine when these appointments should take place in your schedule.
9. Work with your Conference Service Manager on the details of your trip! They will be able to schedule your itinerary, arrange tours, and give suggestions about the most educational and eye-opening locations in the Washington DC area. They are here to make sure your WOW is an unforgettable experience for your whole group!
10. Arrive at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, meet your Washington DC licensed Program Assistant who will serve as your facilitator and tour guide throughout your stay and begin your Wonders of Washington experience!
